Box Newel Posts are also known as Hampton Newel Posts or Grand Newel Posts. A Box Newel Post takes the roll of a standard Newel Post and is a supporting member of balustrade at the top, mid or bottom of a flight of stairs. The Box Newel supports the stair at junctions as well as the handrail both on the staircase and around the stair void.

iBuildStore Panelled Box Newels can be fitted with Ovolo, Scotia & Splayed beads with the panel size customizable to suit any type of staircase and balustrade design. Our standard Panelled Box Newels are recessed 14mm deep with our Ovolo, Scotia & Splayed beads 12 x 12mm in size.
We also provide an External Mould / trim or bead to our large range Box Newel Post designs to best suit both American Contemporary and Hampton Designed Stairs and Balustrade.
Each Box Newel Post is fully glued and assembled with the finished timber selected fixed to a Radiata Pine Core. Box Newels are designed to finished above the handrail line with a Post Top. A pyramid or flat cap designed component fitted to the top of the Box Newel Post. Without a Post Top or Bottom Cap, you will be able to see the Radiata Pine Core.

The timber used in our Box Newel Posts are available in many species.
The most common is of SELECT grade quality. It is relatively clear and free of defects, however there can be small amounts of gum vein, surface checking (splits), live knots and black specks, pin hole borer and hob nail within the SELECT grading. Such defects will not be considered if a refund is requested.
iBuildStore follow Australian Standards of Timber Grading and will be used when selecting your material.
