Purchased: Monostring

Step 1

Enter the total rise between the tops of the unfinished floors
Enter the distance from the top of the existing top floor to the underside of the finished ceiling Enter the dimensional thickness of the top floor material Enter the dimensional thickness of the bottom floor material
Enter the distance from the face of the finished header to the back of the top riser. Note that the top plate will not move as a result of changing this, however this affects where the stringer joins to the plate and effectively lengthens the overall going and the stringer.
(calculated) Enter the number of treads and we will calculate the rise by dividing into the finished floor-to-floor mm The rise must be between {{ limits.minRise }}mm and {{ limits.maxRise }}mm. Change the number of treads to bring this within range.

Step 2

The length of the tread from the outside of the left edge to the right edge
Enter the measurement from riser to riser, excluding overhang
(Excluding overhang)

(Excluding overhang)
Enter the measurement from the face of the top riser to the face of the bottom riser The tread going must be between {{ limits.minGoing }}mm and {{ limits.maxGoing }}mm. Change the overall going to bring this within range.
Enter the measurement from the face of the riser to the nose of the tread This extends the tread in the back under the tread above it for all treads except the top This provides a 10mm tread plate without a bend
The gap between treads is {{ gapBetweenTreads }}mm, and must be {{ limits.maxGapBetweenTreads }}mm or less. Use safety bars to reduce this. This is the distance from the bottom of the back of the tread vertically down to the string. Increasing this pushes the stringer down away from the treads, by lengthening the riser posts. The birdsmouth cut requires at least {{ limits.minBirdsmouth }}mm of string contact on the top plate, it is currently {{ calculated.birdsmouthAt }}mm. Reduce the Tread to stringer gap or Tread thickness to fix this, or you can pack out the top riser more. If 0, the tread plate will be centered within the tread. Increase the value to push the riser and plate back or decrease it to bring it forward.

If a safety bar is used and the tread plate hooks down, this will be set to place the hook behind the safety bar.
Use this to remove treads from the bottom without affecting the length of the string or the other risers. This feature is used when buiding your own landing(s) at the bottom in timber.

Step 3

mm When the stringer is 4800mm or longer, you need a 200mm string for stability Select the side that is least visible, and we will place the beam's weld on that side to conceal it.
Note: Colours displayed should be used as a guide for your colour selection. Always confirm your colour choice with a production line prepared swatch for final colour approval.
